At Fresh Roots Greenhouse, the importance of food safety is central to the production methods used to grow and harvest our "Living Nutrients." Our facility finished greenhouse construction in December 2017. In January 2018, the hydroponic equipment will be assembled to prepare for commercial production. Food safety will be part of the growing techniques right from the start complying with the Food Safety Modernization Act. Local and State certifications for food safety quality will be pursued shortly after starting the first seeds. An important part of food safety is the training of the staff growers and the adherence to safety procedures when handling produce.
